The all-electric Fiat 500 has added another accolade to its impressive roster of awards, winning the Best Small Electric Car at the annual Parkers New Car Awards, in association with the Bauer brand Grazia. This is the second year the all-electric 500 has won this category at the awards.
Judges praised the car for its sleek and simple style, up-to-date tech and nippy driving experience.
The all-electric 500 is the first fully-electric vehicle from Fiat, providing a range of best-in-class features such as Level 2 autonomous driving technologies, a variety of battery options and a substantial driving range of up to 199 miles, the longest range of any electric city car on the market.
The car also benefits from fast charging capabilities, allowing the battery to recharge to 80 per-cent range in only 35 minutes. In addition, 30 miles of range takes only five minutes.
Keith Adams, Editor, Parkers Magazine said: “It might be seen as a cute city car, but don’t underestimate it, because the Fiat 500 truly works as an electric car and not just as a fashion accessory.”
“It zips smartly around town with all the style and panache of a petrol-engined 500, but now it offers a silent and serene driving experience. There are two different battery sizes, an 80% top-up will only take 30 minutes using a rapid charger, and it's so good it took home first place in this category last year too.”
Greg Taylor, UK Managing Director for Fiat and Abarth, said: “The all-electric Fiat 500 continues to make waves among industry experts. A myriad of best-in-class features – such as level 2 autonomous driving – an impressive driving range, as well as multiple trim levels, it is no surprise the all-electric 500 continues to grab attention among industry experts.”
In 2022, the all-electric 500 has already been named Small Electric Car of the Year (What Car?), Best City Car (Auto Express), Best Electric City Car (Ecocar Electrified), Best Small Car (Autocar) and City Car of the Year (GQ Awards).
