The Alfa Romeo F1 Team met up at the Sauber Motorsport factory in Hinwil, Switzerland, to discuss strategies and goals for the upcoming world championship, following a successful season where the team took sixth place, their highest placing in the last decade.
Alongside the team and drivers, Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, the new Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 was also at the factory. Put to the test by the Alfa F1 drivers, the Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 showcased the trademark Alfa Romeo driving pleasure with its best-in-class agility, lightness and driving dynamics. The drivers took part in a dynamic reactivity test on track with a series of gates equipped with sensors which, with the passing of the vehicle, progressively turned on and determined its route.
The Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4, which will soon be available in all Alfa Romeo showrooms, completes the Tonale line-up, and is the first electrified model in the Alfa Romeo range. The new top-of-the-range version exemplifies the Alfa Romeo vision for the sportiness of the future, which is radically changing and looking towards a new era of connectivity and electrification while remaining loyal to the brand’s DNA.
Embodying efficient sportiness, the Tonale Plug-In Hybrid Q4 is the most efficient Alfa Romeo ever producing 26g/km of CO2 emissions and up to 49 miles of range in full-electric mode. The 280hp output places it at the top of its segment, with zero to 62mph acceleration in just 6.2 seconds, and a maximum speed of 83mph in full electric mode and over 128mph in hybrid mode. Acceleration is amplified by the e-AWD system, as the instant torque of the electric motor makes the rear axle respond as soon as the accelerator is pressed.
